Vivark creates jobs with new landscaping service

 

A new landscaping service is being launched in Merseyside creating twelve new jobs.

Vivark, part of the First Ark Group, has recruited eleven operatives and a manager to create the capacity to provide these new services.

The company has already agreed to provide a service to install 40 miles of new and replacement fencing over the next five years and a landscaping services for Knowsley Housing Trust, maintaining and improving green areas and the environment in the social landlord’s communities.

Five of the operatives being employed previously worked for a social enterprise that provided landscaping services for KHT, and lost their jobs when it ceased to operate last year.

Vivark will be keeping those operatives in employment as well as investing in training needs.

Facilities managementcompany Vivark was launched towards the end of 2012 and recently signed its first contract with Knowsley Housing Trust, a deal worth £32m.

It has already expanded its services into eco technology, training operatives to maintain PV panels and solar thermal heating systems. This latest investment adds landscaping to its list of expertise.

Executive Director of Commercial Services Tony Cahill said: “We are investing in our skills base to further enhance the value and quality of our service to customers.

“We are especially pleased that we could offer employment to these already highly-trained operatives who unfortunately lost their jobs last year.

“As our business grows we will be able to create further jobs and training opportunities in our local area, which is part of our wider commitment to giving back to the communities we work in.”

Vivark providesa range of services including repairs and maintenance, facilities management and refurbishment to customers in private commercial properties, the public sector and private residential markets in the North West.
