About this deal

Let me tell you what this audiobook is not. It's not about religion. It's not about telling you how to live your life. It's not about taking on a new set of beliefs. Plain and simple, it's about how to relate to your own thoughts and emotions in a way that makes your life more enjoyable, more free, brighter, clearer and wiser. Ingmar Bergman (vars Laterna magica jag läste samtidigt) och Björn Natthiko Lindeblad borde korsbefruktas.

rivers and waterfalls are common images in many eastern beliefs. the syllable om, which encapsulates the entire essence of the ultimate reality or God, is spoken by the river. the river in turn represents the entire universe itself. I was never promised a long life. We, humans, are like leaves on trees in that respect. Most leaves hold on until they're withered and brown. But some fall while they’re still green.’ In ‘I may be wrong’ Björn Natthiko Lindeblad does exactly that. After working as an economist, he gives up his promising career to spend 17 years as a forest monk in Thailand and in this book shares what he has learnt in that time. There’s plenty of humour in the initial stages as he talks about the problems he faces as a monk - he doesn’t take himself too seriously.

I often pass the ruins of a monastery when I’m out for a walk, and I wonder what it would have been like to live there four or five hundred years ago. Spending your days serving others and seeking your own spiritual salvation. I've sometimes wondered what it would be like to join a Buddhist monastery but the closest I ever got was going on a silent ten-day meditation retreat in an old boarding school in Kells, Co Meath. I enjoyed it, and it left me feeling renewed, but I didn't experience what I’d describe as a calling. A very interesting story about a Swedish economist who decides to become a forest monk in Thailand.

About the contributors

In the Swedish sensation I May Be Wrong, former forest monk Björn Natthiko Lindeblad shares his advice on how to face the uncertainty and doubt that is a natural part of life. We don't choose our thoughts. We don't control the shape they take, or what pops into our minds. We can only choose whether or not to believe them.

If yes, when I should use “I may be wrong” and “I could be wrong”. 'May' suggests more real doubt on behalf of the speaker. 'Could' suggests less real doubt, more mere politeness. Having said that, both of these expressions can convey these two qualities, and there is not a large difference. Much depends on tone of voice and othe matters of context. Takes you on a journey that comes across initially as rich kid goes monk. It feels pretentious and little bit contrived at first but gradually begins to take you on a journey you never expected and leaves you realising this book was written as a gift to us all.

I loved the relaxed and familiar nature of how this book was written. It feels like a friend speaking with you rather than a stranger speaking at you. I think throughout the song it shows an agnostic or a skeptical Christian slowly gaining belief and becoming almost a 'blind sheep' type Christian.

The Fifth Element just shot their self in the foot by proclaiming their interpretation to be perfect, and then not offering one. :D Easier said than done, but the next time I’m in a ‘heated debate’ I’m going to try to remember this advice. I can see how humbling the words are, and how they can defeat the ego. Life doesn’t turn out the way we want it to and we are essentially clueless. It starts with you Det kräver eftertanke och fler än en lyssning för att ta in alla Björns kloka tankar som exempelvis: The narrative is structured loosely as the chronological journey of a Swedish man’s journey from the point he abandons a conventional, middle-class life as a budding economist and becomes a forest monk in Thailand. After nearly 20 years of living as a monk, Bjorn leaves the more formalised life of his Buddhist practice but he continues to share what he has learned through lectures and guided meditations. His life has two unexpected twists: one is marriage, after two decades of celibacy; the other is a diagnosis of ALS and his premature death in his late 50s. His experience of dealing with bodily decline and death - and not just his own, but crucially his own - were particularly helpful and worth focusing on.The title itself is based on a talk given by one of his teachers when he told the class he was going to give them a mantra. He said the next time you felt an argument starting, or a conflict brewing, repeat to yourself three times the magic words: The Sunday Times bestselling book of comfort and timeless wisdom from former forest monk, Bj urn Natthiko Lindeblad I May Be Wrong but I Doubt It T-Shirt, Funny Sarcastic Shirt, Sarcasm T Shirt, Adult Tee, Humor TShirts, Makes a great gift anytime We like to think we understand what’s happening around us; that we can determine the path our life takes.
