Put another way, the difference between retouching with the Wacom pen vs. the mouse is like hand-writing a note with a fine tipped Sharpie vs a paint roller. The eraser is precise as well. I found it to be particularly helpful when creating multi-layer image compositions.
The display is only Full HD, not QHD or 4K as is increasingly standard on drawing tablets these days. Realistically, for the majority of users, this is going to be absolutely fine – more than enough pixels. However, it’s the same resolution as the smaller Wacom Cintiq 16, so if you don’t mind sacrificing a bit of drawing space in favour of a clearer image, that’s a compelling alternative. The driver allows you to make some basic as well as advanced settings like changing from right hand to left-hand mode and properly calibrating the tablet to your monitor screen.

It’s not offered by the first device on our list, the Wacom Intuos family, but it is included in the Wacom Intuos Pro series of tablets. Overall, the Wacom Intuos Pro is comfortable to work with and performs will with creative apps. It's also small and lightweight enough to use on the go. Battery life is also decent. There are a few niggles in the form of the slight lag and an unergonomic pen stand. We think most people will be happy with this Wacom tablet, but you may also want to consider newer alternatives such as the Xencelabs pen tablet bundle, which has a similar price point, but offers more in the box and performs very smoothly.

One of the standout features for me is the intuitive Pro Pen 2 that's included. It feels like an extension of my hand and offers incredible accuracy and very little lag which I've found on cheaper tablets. Straight out of the box with the default settings, I found it to be slightly too sensitive but you can change everything from the tip feel to the tilt sensitivity and the pressure sensitivity which adds another layer of realism and makes using the pen feel very natural. Wacom Intuos Pro Medium: Performance The texture also makes the tablet feel and sound like a paper. It is one of those things which adds to your drawing experience. There are a lot of cheap devices in the market which try to match the Intuos pro in terms of numbers and specs list.
