I suppose i came to the conclusion that it was a more grown-up type of scent and even smelling it now, i think to myself that i can definitely only wear this on a night out. Mandarin, petitgrain, and bergamot meets the nose first, like many richer orientals from the late 80's and early 90's, bearing a striking resemblance to Versace L'Homme in these opening moments, but unlike Chanel's Pour Monsieur eau de toilette Concentrée (1989) or Égoïste (1990), this marries a peculiar apple note to the orange, giving an ambrosia feel to the opening just as familiar lavender, cardamom, and nutmeg take up the chorus in the middle.

Always read labels, warnings, directions and other information provided with the product before using it. I've never smelled the older version, but this formulation smells sweet (more like a caramel sweetness) and I find it close to a gourmand scent rather than an oriental scent. I bought it yesterday because a classmate of mine in the university was wearing it and smelled BEAUTIFUL! It's a serious cologne and matches up with dark clothing, formal clothing, so I will be wearing this to formal dinner parties this autumn. It is not too sweet and could work as a man's scent (yes, I know they made a Mesmerize for Men, too, but I mean if that was not available).of course the amber and spices are all but emanating from my skin right now, but with a very powdery base, again probably because of the amber. It would definitely suit on a crisp, nippy night, making it a great scent to wear during the winter.

There is something in Latitude Longitude that's also in mesmerize, but the scents are nothing alike.

This scent remotely resembles me of Ungaro pour Homme II and Minotaure mixed with Zino, although Mesmerize is more citrusy in its topnotes than those mentioned above. The heart is what stole the show for me: myrrh and a melange of sweet, smooth spices (cardamom and allspice maybe) in a warm vapory trail, manly and very 'hot'(in a sexy way)! Really worth a sniff and a proper usage :D ,it has a great similarity with Zino Davidoff,only less deep and performant. First of all,in my opinion the scent is AMAZING,but it really doesn't last at all,maybe 1-2 hours then its gone. In my experiences with the same man wearing this scent on different ocassions the expected result overcame.

This original formulation that i have reminds me a lot of incense with vague hints of sweetness and warmth. Scent last 1 minute this is not even a exaggeration smell lasts a minute and if you unfortunately spray on clothes there it gives an aroma of sweaty stale clothes. I think people, especially men, think of obnoxious ladies going door to door and the pyramid scheme that tarnished the brand decades ago.I did have Mesmerize and didn’t like much the dry down so I did sell it and kept Viagem Encantada wich is one of my favourites perfumes.
