About this deal

One of the things that I loved about this book was the way Hughes incorporated her love of beauty and makeup into her storytelling. As someone who also enjoys playing with makeup, I found it really interesting to see how Hughes used makeup as a form of self-expression and a way to feel more confident. However, it's important to note that Hughes doesn't present makeup as a cure-all for her problems, and she stresses the importance of learning to love and accept oneself as is. Review: This book takes the fashions that the Queen wore throughout her life & shows the best ones off. All of the fashions are grouped by the colors of the rainbow! I really enjoys seeing how she used color as a statement. It was interesting to learn about why she made certain choices in her fashion for each event. Our Rainbow Queen: A Tribute to Queen Elizabeth II and Her Colorful Wardrobe Sali Hughes pdf. Read Our Rainbow Queen: A Tribute to Queen Elizabeth II and Her Colorful Wardrobe by Sali Hughes Daisy Elizabeth’s upper lip is famously stiff. Brought up in the era of British stoicism, she doesn’t like to 'vent' her sorrows to others or ruminate on painful memories. 'I find that I can often put things out of my mind which are disagreeable,' the Queen once said. But what makes her seem like the biggest misfit in our modern age of emotional openness – and totally unfathomable to rawer hearts like Princess Diana – is actually one of her greatest strengths. So-called 'purposeful repressors', people who consciously dial down negative mind chatter, benefit from a kind of psychological armour, studies have found, preventing the crushing spiral of negativity from taking a mental foothold. As Elizabeth once observed with astonishingly accurate insight, 'The trouble with gloom is that is feeds upon itself and depression causes more depression.' Develop your 'devoir' In the "Green" introduction, the author asserts that QEII is careful about where she wears green. "She won't attend an engagement at a grassy venue, like a racecourse or garden party . . ." in green, yet several photos show her in green at Epsom Racecourse for Derby Day, polo at Windsor Great Park, and posing with her beloved dogs on the lawn and in a garden. Our Rainbow Queen: A Tribute to Queen Elizabeth II and Her Colorful Wardrobe Sali Hughes Read Online Our Rainbow Queen: A Tribute to Queen Elizabeth II and Her Colorful Wardrobe Sali Hughes Mobi Online In modern times Balmoral Castle, built in the 1850s for Queen Victoria, has been a constant in the life of the royal family - an enduring symbol of the I enjoyed learning about the often political and cultural meaning behind the Queen's fashion and jewellery choices, indicating advanced research and preparation for every event and Royal engagement. I especially enjoyed her choice to wear a brooch given to her by the Obamas when meeting President Trump, and to wear the EU colours of blue and gold when attending the State Opening of Parliament post Brexit referendum. Overall, I would give Our Rainbow Queen a rating of 4.5 out of 5. The only downside for me was that at times, the book felt a bit repetitive, as Hughes tends to revisit certain themes and ideas multiple times. However, this is a minor flaw in an otherwise fantastic and inspiring read.

Unlike the author, I am not a Brit. Like the author, I am not a "Royalist". I couldn't care less where Harry and Meghan live. My interest in the Royal Family began and ended with Wallis Simpson. However, this is an interesting look at QEII. No one except Elizabeth and Philip know the inscription inside her wedding ring. She never removes her coat in public. Her hat brim never obscures her face. She never wears diamonds before 6:00 pm. Her skirts have weighted hems so there is no chance of a wardrobe malfunction on a windy day. Her preferred heel height is 2.25".Our Rainbow Queen: A Tribute to Queen Elizabeth II and Her Colorful Wardrobe Sali Hughes Audiobook Online Review: I had no idea how many different colors she wore. The photos and explanations were interesting. I also love hats, I wish they were worn here more often. Will go thru this book again and again!

This is working: [ACCESS] Our Rainbow Queen: A Tribute to Queen Elizabeth II and Her Colorful Wardrobe by Sali Hughes [EBOOK EPUB KINDLE PDF] The essential task of keeping her wardrobe up-to-date rests in the hands of Personal Assistant and Senior Dresser Angela Kelly, who has worked in the royal household for 25 years. I thoroughly enjoyed this little read and all of the trivia it contained. Many designers are mentioned, Royal warrants explained and much more. Learning the Queen's outfits were all weather tested and logged to avoid any repetition of an ensemble and that she won't wear shoes that have a heel higher than 2.25 inches was interesting. He adds the Queen also receives incoming ambassadors, as well as carrying out a myriad of other duties include the Privy Council, which she had to miss last night on medical advice. She’s worn a range of real-fur accessories over the years, including the ermine-trimmed robe at her coronation ceremony in 1953. However, in recent years, after coming under fire by activists, Her Majesty has chosen wear to faux fur to engagements. Angela revealed, ‘If Her Majesty is due to attend an engagement in particularly cold weather, fake fur will be used to make sure she stays warm.’ The Ascot lookPrince William, the Queen's grandson and second in line to the throne, is on his way there, while his wife Kate, Duchess of Cambridge, has remained in Windsor as her children are on their first full day at their new school.
