After a twist, turn, arthroscopy, or minor or major surgery the Aircast Cryo Cuff for the knee is the ideal rehabilitation tool. The cuff is anatomically designed to completely fit the knee providing maximum coverage of the whole joint and allowing the whole surface area to have the continual cooling benefit of cryotherapy. In the first few weeks following knee replacement surgery and even for a long time after that, pain and swelling can become truly intense. Icing the knees regularly is recommended by doctors to help counteract these symptoms, usually around 3-4 times per day for the first 2-3 weeks. The Cryo/Cuff Cooler Unit and Automatic IC Cooler are both designed to attach to a number of Cryo/Cuff supports that provide limb support for a range of body areas. These cooler units fill the Cryo/Cuff support with cold water to provide targeted cold therapy, helping to relieve pain and discomfort throughout the affected area. For a list on which Cryo/Cuffs are available, please see below: The cuff is anatomically designed to cover the entire front-side of the knee, both above and below the patella, providing maximum cryotherapy to that area.
