About this deal

On the bottom of my stairs, I used the Nanny Guards. This prevented a lot of the paint rubbing, because the pressure from the pressure pads was dispersed over a slightly larger area. All it required was a gentle rub down with a cloth and some warm water to get rid of some small scuff marks (probably from the installation). And when letting the gate swing shut from the minimum position when opened, both the bottom and top of the gate failed to latch properly. Even with stair gates installed, you want to spend time teaching your little one how to get downstairs safely by helping them make their way down on their belly, feet first. Are pressure mounted baby gates safe for the top of the stairs?

A baby stair gate is an easy way to help baby-proof your home, ensuring your little one doesn't attempt the stairs without your supervision or until they can safely do it by themselves. This is an excellent baby stair gate, at an affordable price, and is the winner of the best UK stair gates with no screws for the stairs. There were no safety issues with this screw-fit Baby Dan stair gate, which is available in beechwood as well as metal. My walls were plastered and painted. When removing the baby gate for the final time, I discovered that it had taken some of the paint off behind the pressure pads, and it needed touching up with some paint to make it as good as new again.

Do you need stair gates?

Stair gates are widely available from high street retailers like Argos and John Lewis, both of which will deliver to your door.

And the opening of the gate is perhaps the widest of the ones in the top 3 list, owing to the design of the frame. A stair gate is basically a safety barrier that stops your baby or toddler from going into an area that’s potentially dangerous for them. Even if your toddler can safely travel up or down the stairs, parents often find stair gates useful to ensure your toddler remains upstairs or downstairs where you are. Do you need baby gates at the top and bottom of the stairs? They’re typically installed at the top and bottom of stairs but some parents like to have them in other rooms of the home, too. Stair gates can also be useful for keeping pets in a separate room — although some bigger, more mischievous dogs can jump over them. This comes in slightly more expensive than the winner above, but does come in more variation size wise, with 5 different size variations going from 76cm to 117cm through the use of extensions.
