About this deal

The Planet Waves NS utilizes a unique mechanism for tension control, but does not come close to the quality construction of either the Shubb or the Piage. With its rubber padding and low profile build, the Planet Waves capo is a good affordable option for a screw on capo. Best known for founding the guitar company of the same name, Steinberger rose to prominence in the ‘80s with his headless guitars used by artists like Van Halen, Sting and David Gilmour. Recognizing his eye for design, D’Addario reached out to Steinberger in the hope of collaboration, and thus the NS Artist series was created.

The reason for this is obvious with ukuleles as they're much smaller, less so with the other two. Because of the extra set of strings on a 12-string acoustic or electric, you'll need a higher tension to effectively clamp down the strings. On a classical guitar, it comes down to the flat fretboard radius as we mentioned before, which requires a specific capo design to work properly. What is a guitar capo used for? A good-quality guitar capo will last longer even after heavy use, which means you'll need to replace the components less frequently, saving you money in the long run. However, the most crucial factor when purchasing a capo is its applicability to the guitar you'll primarily use it on.The only downside with this capo is its adaptability. It should work great with acoustic and electric guitars, but the fitted design might not fit as well on banjos, ukuleles or mandolins.

There are a number of different styles available. Each comes with pros and cons, and ultimately personal choice will impact which you prefer. Strap Capos

You might have some of your strings muted, and won't be able to play them open position (defeating the purpose of using your capo). Alternatively, you might also bend a string or two inadvertently, which will affect their tuning and make your notes sound dissonant while you're playing. While it is technically possible to use a guitar capo on a banjo, it is generally not recommended for several reasons. Here’s a detailed explanation of why I don’t recommend using a guitar capo on a banjo:
