La hipercalcemia puede aumentar la toxicidad de los glucósidos cardiacos durante el tratamiento con calcio y vitamina D. Los pacientes deberían ser monitorizados mediante electrocardiograma (ECG) y niveles séricos de calcio (ver sección 4.4). Este medicamento está autorizado en los Estados Miembros del Espacio Económico Europeo con los siguientes nombres:Los diuréticos tiazídicos reducen la excreción urinaria de calcio. Durante el uso concomitante con diuréticos tiazídicos, deberían monitorizarse periódicamente los niveles séricos de calcio debido al aumento de riesgo de hipercalcemia (ver sección 4.4). Durante el embarazo, la ingesta diaria no debe superar los 1.500 mg de calcio y 600 UI de vitamina D. Por lo tanto, no se recomienda tomar Demilos durante el embarazo.

El 99% del calcio corporal se concentra en las estructuras duras como huesos y dientes. El 1% restante se encuentra presente en los fluidos intra- y extracelulares. Aproximadamente el 50% del total del calcio sanguíneo se encuentra en la forma ionizada fisiológicamente activa, con aproximadamente un 10% formando complejos con citrato, fosfato u otros aniones. El 40% restante permanece unido a proteínas, principalmente albúmina. La biodisponibilidad del calcio puede aumentar ligeramente con la ingesta concomitante de alimentos. Precaution

Si su médico le ha indicado que padece una intolerancia a ciertos azúcares, consulte con él antes de tomar este medicamento. Puede perjudicar los dientes. La administración conjunta de fenitoína o barbitúricos puede reducir el efecto de la vitamina D 3 ya que aumenta su metabolismo. Si se administra un bifosfonato de forma concomitante, este debería administrarse al menos tres horas antes de Demilos 600 mg /2.000 UI ya que la absorción gastrointestinal puede verse reducida. Demilos puede ser tomado durante la lactancia. El calcio y la vitamina D 3 pasan a la leche materna. Esto debe tenerse en cuenta cuando la vitamina D se aporta adicionalmente al lactante.
