About this deal

The next few spreads are words related to different activities and are basically fine -- though I'm not sure how much kids will understand the verbs (especially when "Mealtime" had a "sippy cup" and a "bottle" and then a picture of a kid drinking from a sippy cup labeled "drink"). Also, I feel that putting "fork and spoon" in a single photo makes it hard to teach them as distinct nouns. If you can make reading a part of their routine right from day one, and make it fun, then you’ll find it much easier to keep them engaged in reading for school. Improves chances of success in school The book sees a group of siblings go hunting for bears. They have to cross through mud and puddles, making funny sounds as they go. This story is about little babies playing peekaboo and is interactive to get your baby learning about their own body. The Cat in the Hat by Dr Seuss Roger Priddy left school at 16 with just one qualification—in art. He went to Berkshire College of Art and Design and trained as an illustrator. His first job in children’s books was working with the publisher Peter Usborne, at Usborne Publishing, and then he worked with Peter Kindersley at Dorling Kindersley, where he spent 16 years. Priddy became Creative Director of DK’s Children’s Division and was Managing Director of the children’s mass market publisher Funfax when it was acquired by DK.

Mog the Forgetful Cat by Judith Kerr This book has slightly more words than the others on this list, but I think it’s important to sometimes push kids to a slightly higher reading level where you can.

A good book collection will have a range of different types of stories, some that focus just on the words and others that have a little more interactivity for babies to enjoy. We spend time mastering each list of high frequency words with lots of explicit practice and repetition. We use them in sentences, recite fun poems, write and rewrite the words, play spelling games, and more. Teaching phonics rules rather than just memorizing words helps our students to read more than just the words on this list. It enables them to apply those rules to read other words that follow similar spelling patterns! When you’re a reading teacher, this is the goal! The classic story is about a rainbow patchwork elephant who is different to all of the other grey elephants. It also teaches your baby about the world around them, including things that they may not see day to day, such as other places, different emotions, animals, vehicles and more.
