Nibbles: The Bedtime Book by Emma Yarlett | Waterstones

The 2023 Awards were announced at a ceremony on 15th May. Discover the Book of the Year awards and the Book Trade awards. Some ideas for this book would be to discuss the similarities and differences between the folklore stories to compared to the original or a different version. There are many similarities and differences that the students could find. They could create a Venn Diagram to show the similarities and differences. Since there are a few different versions mentioned within the Book Monster, the teacher would have great examples to do a teacher model, a we do example, and a student do. Also, students could complete a sequence of events for the Book Monster to explain what happened throughout the story. Students could also write about what they think will happen next to Nibbles. Students could create their own story about Nibbles and his next adventure. Lastly, the teacher could have a discussion about how students know that this is a fractured fairy-tale/folklore story and how this story is different from nonfiction.

The Awards is a snapshot of the industry’s achievements and output, and reflects a business that is at the centre of many different conversations. It is committed to amplifying publishing talent from traditionally underrepresented communities, and ensures that this is upheld throughout the event and beyond. Publishers make books for everyone, and the awards echo their commitment to freedom of expression with texts that can challenge and inform, as well as entertain. The business opened three new standalone bookshops in 2022, at Luton and Manchester airports and Edinburgh Waverley station, plus new concept stores with bright book departments. It meanwhile relocated and revamped its concessions within Harrods and Selfridges in London—special shopping environments that provide more proof that the W H S Travel team can do far more than pile-‘em-high bookselling.
