About this deal
If the thought of putting together a World Book Day costume fills you with dread, why not choose to mark the day in a different way. As it is her absolute favourite I thought it would be nice to recreate it in food form to celebrate World Book Day. Cooking together is a fun indoor activity to do together, and kids will love helping to make this Gruffalo Crumble.
Gruffalo Biscuits Fun Plate Recipe | 12 months + | Organix
Children will often find a book they love such as The Gruffalo and this can then be used as a theme to teach different skills to kids that help aid literacy, learning and development. Now it is time to put the kettle on and enjoy eating your Gruffalo sugar biscuits while you finish listening to the Gruffalo with your little one. It was a fun way to spend the afternoon role playing outdoors, crafting in the art room and enjoying the theme without being forced to sit and learn the old school way. I wasn’t up to actually making a crumble and ideally wanted to make something that just involved mixing lots of ingredients so my girls could be as involved as possible.
To make our fridge cake Gruffalo themed, we added dried fruits and sweets to represent different parts of the Gruffalo. These toddler biscuits are a Gruffalo's favourite food, thanks to their scrummy flavour and perfectly portioned snack packs! Push down gently with your fingers so they are a little less ball like and more biscuit like (you can see the ridges in the picture).
